cupcake 300x200 Updated! DIY Easy Bake Oven RecipesMy daughter is a natural born foodie…she loves to buy groceries, try new foods, make her own “special dishes”, and of course- bake yummy goodies! It’s only natural her most loved “toy” is her Hasbro Easy Bake Oven. It’s one of my favorites as well, however, I could do without the $5+ price tag on the recipe bags. Especially when the $0.97 Betty Crocker mixes taste 10x better and actually make a full-sized cake.

Determined to find some great tasting and thrifty alternatives, I scoured the web and found some great websites I wanted to share.

Hasbro: The company website has a recipe list that uses your traditional brownie, cake, and muffin mixes but alters the baking instructions for the Easy Bake Oven. These recipes have been the easiest by far since you just add water for many of them.

Budget 101: A good collection of basic cake recipes. My daughter loved the “Barbie” recipe, but that was probably just because Barbie was in the recipe name (and it was pink!).

EBORecipes: This site is dedicated to collecting Easy Bake Oven recipes and has the greatest selection by far. Whether you are looking for bars, breads, frosting, pizza, or caramel corn- they have the recipe!

New Sites…

Recipezaar: Over 63 recipes dedicated to the Easy Bake Oven with many of them user generated and tested.  The site has pictures of the creations and a rating system to see which recipes passed the taste test.

Easy Bake Oven Gourmet Cookbook: Such a greta find! This is an actual cookbook and includes some very fancy easy bake oven recipes.   Who would have thought you could make a Cornish game hen in that little thing? A super fun cookbook for easy bake oven foodies.

Baking with Mommy Cookbook: Another cookbook, but this one focuses on more traditional easy bake goodies such as cookies, cakes, pizza, etc.  The book has excellent reviews and makes a great “on hand” reference for your little easy bake chef.  If you don’t want to search the web each time you bake, add this to your collection.

I hope this list comes in handy with your own Easy Bake adventures. As always- happy baking!

You can use 3 teaspoons of betty crocker and 1 teaspoon of water for the mix!

sorry, I meant 1 teaspoon of milk!

I think you mean tablespoons, not teaspoons.
        Should be:
3 tablespoons cake mix and 1 tablespoon milk. Bake for about 15 minutes. :)

This is awesome and so timely! I bought my six-year-old an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas! I can’t wait to try some of the recipes with her. I feel like I’m six!

Thank you so much for this post! I was very apprehensive after I decided to get my 6yr old little girl this for Christmas because I know the mixes are so expensive & never taste very good. I was torn because I know my daughter would love being able to do her own thing but didn’t want to get it if I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with the required supplies in order for her to play with it. This post is a huge relief!

  5. my little Nana loves this site.

Got something to say?
